Darlington Raceway celebrates its rich history with launch of new website

Darlington Raceway is honoring its storied history with a new and enhanced digital platform.

The track’s new website, www.DarlingtonRaceway.com, officially launched to the public today, April 23. It features a sleek, clean design that follows the track’s 2015 campaign of celebrating its history, while embracing the present and looking towards the future.

“Our new website provides historical content for our fans, while also making it easy to purchase tickets and obtain guest service information for our Labor Day race weekend,” Darlington Raceway President Chip Wile said. “We’re always looking for new ways to engage with our fans and showcase our track and this new website helps with those efforts.”

With the track celebrating the 1970-74 time period as part of its 2015 marketing platform, one of the highlights of the new site is the “Tradition” section, which provides fans an interactive area to see many memorable moments with videos, timelines and overview of life in the early 1970’s.

The multimedia area features videos of NASCAR Hall of Fame inductees and current Sprint Cup Series drivers talking about their Darlington memories. Many other great videos will be added to the site leading into the track’s Bojangles’ Southern 500, which returns to Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5-6, 2015.

The site will still continue to provide an easy avenue for purchasing race tickets and provide facility maps and other guest services information. The site also boasts a non-race weekend activity schedule, as well as NASCAR news courtesy of the Motor Racing Network (MRN).

The Tradition Returns to Labor Day weekend as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500® is set for Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015. The NASCAR XFINITY Series VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 will race on Saturday, Sept. 5. Tickets are on sale now by calling 866-459-7223 or visiting www.DarlingtonRaceway.com.
