Kentucky Speedway Announces the Ford F-150 as the Official Pace Vehicle

Kentucky Speedway announces the 2015 Ford F-150 truck will lead the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) field to green Saturday, July 11 at 7:30 p.m., for the fifth running of the Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts. The truck will also pace the July 10 NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) and July 9 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) fields becoming the “Official Pace Vehicle of Kentucky Speedway” of the 2015 season.

Ford has been providing cars and trucks to the Speedway since 1998. During speedway events, Super Duty trucks tow free fan trams and are utilized by the speedway’s operations department as well as the Fire and Safety team.

“Ford is excited to have the all-new 2015 F-150 pace the field at Kentucky Speedway this year. Like NASCAR, the F-150 is tough to the core and we are proud to showcase this truck to racing fans at this year’s races,” said Regional Manager-Sales and Services Cincinnati Region, Greg Ruminski.

Ford has been part of several Kentucky Speedway NASCAR milestones through the years. In 2014, Penske Racing driver Brad Keselowski won his second NSCS Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts by powering his way to Victory Lane in the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion. Other recognizable moments were produced by members of the Roush Fenway Racing NSCS lineup. Greg Biffle earned Kentucky Speedway’s inaugural NCWTS victory in 2000. Ricky Stenhouse Jr., the 2013 NSCS rookie of the year, snared his first ARCA Racing Series (ARS) victory on the venue’s 1.5-mile tri-oval in 2008. Former Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards raced to his first NASCAR national series victory and turned his first NASCAR backflip following his 225-mile NCWTS win in 2003. He additionally rolled to a 300-mile NXS victory at the Speedway in 2005.

Fans will have a chance to view the wrapped Ford F-150 pace truck Saturday, April 25 when the Speedway’s popular Ford Fan Day event.
