Gateway Motorsports Park Seeking to Fill 60-100 Positions

Gateway Motorsports Park is currently searching for fun and enthusiastic people to work during the 2015 racing season, which runs from March 20 – November 1, 2015.  A wide range of positions are available for the NHRA sanctioned drag strip, 1.25 mile NASCAR speedway, the 1.6 mile road course and the new Gateway Kartplex and off-road racing venue. 

“We are looking for people to fill a variety of roles,” said Chris Blair, Gateway Motorsports Park General Manager. “We have opportunities for people to work weekday, evening and weekend hours.  This is a perfect opportunity for high school and college students, people needing to supplement their current income, and for people who just want to add a little excitement to their lives.” Gateway Motorsports Park will seeking to fill 60 to 100 positions over the next few months.  The Gateway Motorsports Park vision is to create an entertainment venue unlike anything in the region, that welcomes the need for speed in racing and car enthusiasts of all ages.

Just a few of the positions available: 

Announcers:    We have positions available on our announcing staff.  We are looking for people with strong knowledge of racing, cars and the automotive industry.  Must have the ability to enunciate, read fluently, inform and entertain.  Announcers commentate events, awards presentations, interview sponsors, racers and fans as well as promote upcoming events and on-site sales. 

EMS/Fire & Safety:  We have positions available for applicants that have either EMT or paramedic qualifications or fire-fighting experience is helpful. Current certifications required upon application.  Duties include first aid, track safety and track clean-up.  While on duty at the track, you will be required to work as part of Race Operations (timeslips, waterbox, turn-off, tech, start-line, etc.) when not handling an emergency situation.  Gateway Motorsports Park offers training programs in conjunction with NASCAR, NHRA and SCCA. 

Grounds/Maintenance/Clean-Up: We have immediate positions available for applicants 16 years of age or older.  Immediate openings for weekday, overnight and event-day workers.  Duties include everything from mowing grass to hanging signs and banners at the track.  From March to November we usually have projects going seven days a week.  

Hospitality / Sponsor Support Team:  We offer a limited number of positions at our major events in the Hospitality area. These positions are limited to major and mid-major events.  We are looking for people-friendly applicants that are 18 years of age or older.  Duties include greeting and assisting our hospitality guests while conducting track tours and transportation for event sponsors. 

Race/Event Operations: We have positions available for applicants that are 18 years of age or older in our Race/Event Operations team.  Duties include, but are not limited to; staging lanes, burnout box, starting line, E.T. booth, registrations, tower, computer operator, clean-up, restricted area patrol, front gate patrol, parking, technical inspection, grandstand patrol, gate patrol, course set-up, course tear-down and track prep.  

Street Team/Promotions/Public Relations: We have positions available for applicants who are 16 years of age or older than are energetic and people friendly.  Duties include promotional displays, poster and flier distribution, victory lane set-up/presentation, social media updates, pre and post race media, photography and much, much more.  We are always doing promotional events and need a great staff to expand our efforts. 

Ticketing/Gate Staff:  We have positions available for people-friendly applicants that are 16 years of age or older.  Duties include cashiering, ticket scanning, hand-stamping and clean-up.  Cash handling and computer experience is helpful.
