TMS, Levy Restaurants to unveil hawg heaven bacon nachos for AAA Texas 500

The folks that brought together three important food groups – bacon, beer and ice cream – to create the bacon-infused beer milkshake for its race fans are back at it again with America’s meat candy obsession.

Bacon lovers will be able to unite Oct. 31-Nov. 2for the AAA Texas 500 NASCAR tripleheader weekend as Texas Motor Speedway and its official concessionaire Levy Restaurants unveil their latest creation – Hawg Heaven Bacon Nachos – that features bacon in four forms. White nacho bacon cheese sauce, chunks of hickory smoked bacon, candied bacon and bacon powder are incorporated to transform this staple sports venue concession item into a meat lover’s delight.

Hawg Heaven Bacon Nachos consists of tri-color tortilla chips sprinkled with bacon powder and topped with white cheese bacon nacho sauce, candied bacon, jalapenos, black beans, pico de gallo and sour cream. The item will sell for $8 and only be available at the concession stand on the concourse inside the Gate 4 main grandstand entrance.

“We serve thousands of orders of nachos over a race weekend and we wanted to give our race fans a more compelling alternative to our biggest-selling item while extending our Hawg Heaven brand,” said Levy Restaurants Chef Lincoln Engstrom, who spent hours experimenting to create the new item in addition to his culinary responsibilities at Texas Motor Speedway and its Speedway Club. “Nothing goes better with racing than bacon, bacon, bacon and more bacon!”

And what better way for an adult to wash down those tasty bacon-enhanced nachos than with a Texas craft beer. Levy Restaurants will have its Craft Beer Brewery located in section 405 of the concourse near the Gate 4 entrance and offer sixvarieties of Texas craft beers, including local Dallas-Fort Worth favorites Deep Ellum IPA (Dallas), Franconia Dunkel (McKinney) and Grapevine Sir Williams English Brown Ale (Grapevine). The others are Real Ale Fireman’s #4 Squared (Blanco), Saint Arnold Santo (Houston) and Ziegenbock Amber, a craft beer brewed by Anheuser-Busch in Houston and only available in the Lone Star State.

In celebration of Halloween that same weekend, Levy also will offer A-B’s Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat. The specialty beers will sell for $10 each and come in a 22-ounce souvenir cup.

The nachos are the next generation of the Hawg Heaven line of concession items developed by Levy Restaurants and Texas Motor Speedway. The others were Hawg Heaven bacon cotton candy, the bacon-infused martini and most recently the “Shake’n Bacon Brew” bacon-infused beer milkshake.

The AAA Texas 500 race weekend at Texas Motor Speedway will feature the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series WinStar World Casino 350 on Friday, Oct. 31, Nationwide Series O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge on Saturday, Nov. 1, and the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup AAA Texas 500 on Sunday, Nov. 2.
