Buckcherry headlines entertainment lineup during race weekend

A pre-race concert by the popular rock band Buckcherry headlines a packed entertainment lineup for the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race weekend at Phoenix International Raceway.

In addition to Buckcherry’s performance on Sunday from 11-11:45 a.m. on the Budweiser ROLL-BAR stage, race fans at PIR will be treated to performances by well-known local acts Whiskey’s Quicker, Harry Luge, Jr. and Chad Freeman & Redline, along with the Las Vegas-based WolfCreek Band.

Whiskey’s Quicker kicks off the weekend with a performance in SPEED Cantina on Thursday night from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Formed in 2011, the Phoenix-based group is one of the most popular rock cover bands in Arizona and has been a mainstay at Phoenix International Raceway ever since.

Friday’s music lineup is headlined by a post-race concert on the Budweiser ROLL-BAR stage by WolfCreek Band.  Founded in 1998, the powerful country-rock group performs the music of super groups such as Led Zeppelin, Journey, AC/DC, Johnny Cash, ZZ Top, The Eagles, and solo artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith and many more.

Harry Luge, Jr. will hit the SPEED Cantina stage on Thursday and Friday from 9 – 11 p.m. each night, and again on Saturday from 7 – 8:30 p.m.  The Arizona-born singer/songwriter is a favorite on the country music scene throughout the Southwest and has become a regular on the SPEED Cantina stage during PIR’s NASCAR weekends since 2005.

Chad Freeman & Redline will headline Saturday’s concert lineup, following Harry Luge on stage at 9 p.m. in SPEED Cantina.  Freeman moved to Arizona in 2003 and has established himself as one of the top performers in the Southwest.
