WGI Employee On The Move – Up

Watkins Glen Internationai s proud to announce the promotion of Montana McDonald to Manager of Business Partnerships effective immediately. McDonald, a native of Romulus, NY, has been a part of the seasonal and full-time staff since 2011. In her new position, McDonald is responsible for fulfilling corporate sponsorship services, managing the show car tour, as well as controlling social media platforms for various events. 

“Montana has become an integral part of our event management team over the past few years,” stated Michael Printup, President of Watkins Glen International. “She has the ‘can do’ attitude that we need and it will make her very successful in her new role. This new position was created so we continue to meet the growing needs of all of our sponsors, customizing their exposure across all events to best maximize their return on investment.”

A graduate of Keuka College, McDonald joined the Watkins Glen International team in the summer of 2011 as a ticketing intern and quickly proved herself as an asset to the seasonal staff. McDonald returned for two consecutive summers as a seasonal Ticketing Coordinator until she joined the team full time in September 2013. In April 2014, McDonald took on more responsibility as Ticketing and Promotions Coordinator by managing the show car tour, managing social media platforms for the Finger Lakes Wine Festival and becoming a primary contact for customer related communications.

As Manager of Business Partnerships, McDonald will report directly to Cindy Lewis-Black, Senior Manager of Business Partnerships, and will manage various WGI events and VIP experiences, while maintaining relationships with festival partners in order to leverage their marketing and brand exposure at Watkins Glen International.
