Hayley Orrantia to perform National Anthem prior to Quicken Loans 500 at Phoenix

Fans at Phoenix International Raceway will be in for a thrill at the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 when Hayley Orrantia, one of the stars ABC’s hit sitcom “The Goldbergs,” performs the national anthem on stage before the start of the race. The final Eliminator race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1:00 p.m. MST (3:00 p.m. EST) and will be televised live on ESPN.

The 20-year-old Orrantia stars as Erica Goldberg in the ABC show, which first aired in 2013. Set in the 1980s, the show based loosely on the childhood of the show’s creator Adam Goldberg. Orrantia’s character, Erica, is the oldest of the three Goldberg children. Season 2 of “The Goldbergs” premieres tomorrow night at 8:30 p.m. Eastern and Pacific on the ABC Television Network.

Orrantia began her professional singing career at age 13 when she was featured on Disney’s “Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure” soundtrack. She has opened for several major artists and celebrities, including Hot Chelle Rae, Jack Ingram, JLS, Julianne Hough and Rachel Ray.

A native of Arlington, Texas, she made her film debut in 2010 when she was cast as Penny in the independent film “Cooper and the Castle Hills Gang,” which premiered at the Dallas International Film Festival. The film garnered numerous awards from the National Home Builders, Telly Awards, Webby Awards and the Dallas Home Builders Association.

A year later, she burst onto the national stage on Season 1 of “The X Factor USA.” She originally auditioned as a solo artists, but she and three other contestants were assembled during the boot camp phase by host Simon Cowell into a girl group to continue in the competition. Calling themselves Lakoda Rayne, they were the last group in the competition and made it to the top nine.
