Chicagoland Speedway today announced Richard Childress, Dale Jarrett and Brett Bodine will be inducted in the Legends Club this September as part of a triple-header weekend to kick off the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Featuring some of the most storied figures, families and personalities in the sport, The Legends Club offers an intimate setting with an all-inclusive package of beer and wine, plus two meals per day. The Club made its debut this past July as Elmhurst, Ill. native Fred Lorenzen was inducted. The “Golden Boy,” who remains the only NASCAR driver to win 20 races in their first 100 starts, was also one offive new members inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame this past May.
Dale Jarrett, a 2014 NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee, will be inducted on Friday. Jarrett certainly has the legendary bloodlines, and is one half of just the third father-son duo to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He and his father, Ned, join Bill France Sr. and Bill France Jr., as well as Lee and Richard Petty. Jarrett ranks 21st all-time with 32 Sprint Cup Series wins, with several coming in NASCAR’s biggest races. In addition to three Daytona 500 victories, Jarrett also won twice at the Brickyard and once in the Coca-Cola 600.

Childress, owner and 2015 NASCAR Hall of Fame nominee, who retired from racing in 1981 to focus on ownership of Richard Childress Racing, ranks second all-time with 11 NASCAR series championships. He was also the first owner to capture titles in all three of NASCAR’s touring series. Much of his success is linked with seven-time champion Dale Earnhardt, who won six championships and 67 races during his tenure with RCR.
Bodine will treat fans to a unique perspective as someone who has both led the field and now paces it. As the Director of Competition, Research and Development for NASCAR, Bodine not only drives the pace car for Sprint Cup events after a 15-year career on the track, but also helps to institute cost-cutting measures for teams and assisted with the development of the new Gen-6 car. Much like Jarrett, Bodine comes from a family of racers, as he and brothers Geoff and Todd have competed and succeeded on NASCAR’s highest levels.
Saturday will feature a special appearance by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie driver, and Illinois native, Justin Allgaier. The 28-year-old has had success at Chicagoland Speedway winning here during the NASCAR Nationwide Series race in 2011. Allgaier will speak with fans about the influence some of NASCAR’s legends have had on him including fellow Illinois native and 2015 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, Fred Lorenzen.
