NASCAR Hauler Showcase and Parade returns to Dover on Thursday, Sept. 25

Dover International Speedway is pleased to announce a special kickoff to the Sept. 26-28, 2014 race weekend with the return of the popular NASCAR Hauler Showcase and Parade. The event is set for Thursday, Sept. 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. and begins at the Blue Hen Corporate Center in Dover.

The Hauler Showcase and Parade is free and open to the public

Fans are invited to the Blue Hen Corporate Center, located at 655 S. Bay Road just four miles south of the Monster Mile on Route 113, to see the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series haulers before they depart at 6 p.m. on a parade route through Downtown Dover before heading to the track

The parade will once again create a can’t-miss spectacle in the capitol of The First State. Approximately 40 brightly painted NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver haulers, measuring approximately 80-feet in length, will make their way through town en route to the Speedway.

The inaugural event in 2013 saw close to 10,000 attendees spread out across the entire parade route. After such a great turnout, Speedway and local officials agreed the event should return in 2014.

“Last year’s event was a huge success, so it was only natural to bring it back,” said Michael Tatoian, executive vice president and COO of Dover Motorsports, Inc. “We are always looking for ways to enhance the fan experience, and being able to work with NASCAR and these hauler drivers to put on a great show makes our race weekend that much more exciting.”

The showcase will kick off at 4 p.m. in the Blue Hen Corporate Center before departing on the parade route at 6 p.m. Haulers will start north on Bay Road, before making a left onto Martin Luther King Blvd. (formerly Court Street). They will then turn right onto Legislative Avenue in Downtown Dover, before turning left onto Loockerman Street, then right on South State Street. From there, the haulers will proceed to the track via Leipsic Road and arrive at approximately 6:45 p.m.

NASCAR returns to Dover International Speedway Sept. 26-28, 2014 for the Sept. 28 “AAA 400” NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, the third event in the 10-race Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the Sept. 27 NASCAR Nationwide Series race and the Sept. 26 “Drive Sober 150” presented by the Delaware Office of Highway Safety NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race.
