NASCAR’s Richard Petty, Michael Waltrip and Aric Almirola, NHRA’s Greg Anderson Headline Upcoming Parade of Power

As Charlotte Motor Speedway gears up for its sixth annual Parade of Power on Wednesday, Aug. 6, some of the biggest names in NASCAR and the NHRA will be on hand to help the speedway wave the green flag on Charlotte Motor Speedway’s action-packed fall Season of Speed.

NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty and two-time Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip will be joined by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver of the No. 43 Smithfield Ford, Aric Almirola, and NHRA Pro Stock driver for Summit Racing, Greg Anderson, to outline all of the exciting events fans have to look forward to for the remainder of the year at the greatest place to see the race.

As part of the free fan event, an estimated 32,000 horsepower representing every form of motorsports that will be showcased this fall at Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway and The Dirt Track at Charlotte will parade down Bruton Smith Boulevard from Concord Mills mall to the speedway’s Avenue of Flags. A map of the complete parade route is available online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/tickets/parade_of_power. The parade begins at noon.

“At Charlotte Motor Speedway, we’re all about putting fans first,” said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. “There’s no better way to kick off our exciting fall season than inviting some of the biggest stars in motorsports along with a few thousand fans to join us for a fun, free event?”

Following the parade, Charlotte Motor Speedway officials will hold a fan forum with Petty, Waltrip, Almirola and Anderson at the entrance of Smith Tower. Fans in attendance can participate in a question and answer session with the drivers and the first 100 fans to arrive at the speedway Wednesday morning and pick up a wristband from the information booth on the Avenue of Flags will be invited to an autograph session in the speedway ticket office following the fan forum.

Fans can take a ride in a monster truck or take their photo with the cars, which will be lined up in the Fan Zone. The Charlotte Motor Speedway Kangaroo Express Fan Van, which includes interactive games and other activities, will be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

As part of the kickoff to the fall season, fans will be treated to one-day-only ticket deals and have the chance to win prizes with Charlotte Motor Speedway’s spin-to-win wheel.
