Stanton and Locklair Jr. Win Back-To-Back At Dillon Motor Speedway

Dillon Motor Speedway was back in action on Saturday, July 26 for the #JacobStrong 200.

A strong field of 50 cars showed up to compete, in front of a great crowd. Donations from the track’s 50/50 benefited Jacob Richardson, a police officer for the City of Dillon who was involved in a crash just a few miles from the speedway.

Ben Stanton overcame adversity to win his second Late Model race in a row on Saturday night. Greg Peterson also made a great comeback to finish second. Jason Clark rounded out the top-three, followed by Jimmy Wallace and Jason Tutterow.

Brian Owens captured his first win of the season in the Charger division. Finishing second was Michael Williamson. AJ Walsh crossed the line in third. Shae Lane had a strong fourth place finish, and Ben Watford rounded out the top-five.

Ricky Locklair Jr. picked up his second win in a row in the Street Stock division. Finishing a close second was Tommy Poole, followed by Regina Weatherford, Ricky Locklair Sr. and Neal Anderson.

There was a great field of Purse Stock Fours at the speedway Saturday night; one of the largest all season. Kayla Dean took the checkered flag with Marty Dean right behind her. Corey Rose rounded out the top-three. JR Moore finished fourth, and Jamie Chambers finished fifth.

Chalin Williamson won both, the Mini Cup dash and the Mini Cup main event. Steve Lauffer earned a second place finish, his best of the season at the speedway. David Coonfield finished third, and Steve Chauncey finished fourth. Trey Schuler finished fifth.

Dillon Motor Speedway will be off this upcoming weekend but will host the 50th Anniversary Night at the Races on Saturday, August 9.
