Wash ‘N Ride for a Cause Raises Record Amount

Homestead-Miami Speedway hosted its third annual Wash ‘N Ride for a Cause charity car wash on Saturday, May 17, which saw a different group of cars speeding around the 1.5-mile oval.

More than 200 cars headed to the track on Saturday to have their car washed and dried as they followed the official Homestead-Miami Speedway Ford Shelby Mustang GT 500 around the speedway. The event raised nearly $10,000 for Driving for a Cause, Homestead-Miami Speedway’s charitable arm, and the Miami Children’s Health Foundation.

“Our 3rd annual Wash ‘N Ride charity event was a great success and we are thrilled to have raise thousands of dollars for Driving for a Cause and the Miami Children’s Health Foundation,” Homestead-Miami Speedway President Matthew Becherer said. “The event was a lot of fun for all that came to the Speedway, from the participants to the volunteers, as well as Miami Children’s Health Foundation.”

“We are very thankful to have been selected as the charity of choice by Homestead-Miami Speedway,” said Lucy Morillo, president and CEO of Miami Children’s Health Foundation. “With the generous donations received through this event, Miami Children’s Health Foundation can continue supporting and raising awareness for some of the key initiatives at Miami Children’s Hospital, and continue ensuring the health and happiness of children everywhere.”

Throughout its four-year history, the Wash ‘N Ride for a Cause has raised more than $30,000 for South Florida community charities, increasing in donations each year.
