DAYTONA Rising, the $400 million frontstretch renovation project at Daytona International Speedway, reached an important milestone on Wednesday morning as the escalator installation process began.
The first escalator was raised and installed on the West end of the frontstretch. The new frontstretch grandstands will feature 40 escalators, which tops the nation in the number of stadium escalators.
“Having the escalator installation process begin is another important milestone in the DAYTONA Rising project,” Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III said. “Vertical transportation is a key ingredient in this massive project and the escalators will help guests easily navigate the new venue so they can enjoy all the new amenities.”
