Cotton and Phoenix hit the big screen to showcase Blue Jeans go Green

Cotton Incorporated and Phoenix International Raceway are taking to the silver screen to spread the word about the Blue Jeans Go Green™denim recycling program that was showcased at PIR during last month’s NASCAR race weekend.

A 90-second piece highlighting the program and the Blue Jeans Go Green™ 200 presented by Cotton, The Fabric of Our Lives® NASCAR Nationwide Series race at PIR is running within Screenvision’s national 14,200 screen network, including more than 400 screens in Arizona. It will run prior to the movies starting within Screenvision’s Front & Center preshow between now and May 8.  Cotton Incorporated teamed with Screenvision, a national leader in cinema advertising, to exhibit the Blue Jeans Go Green™ program in theaters.

The Blue Jeans Go Green™ 200 race generated tremendous visibility for the nationwide call-to-action for consumers to recycle denim and give it “new life” by converting it into UltraTouch™ Denim Insulation.  The race entitlement was supported by an at-track recycling program in which race weekend attendees were encouraged to drop off any type of denim at one of four recycling collection bin locations that were set up around the track. The recycled denim is being converted into UltraTouch™ Denim Insulation by Bonded Logic, located in Chandler, Ariz.

Phoenix International Raceway provided a 20 percent discount on tickets to the November 2014 PIR NASCAR Nationwide Series race to fans who recycled denim with Blue Jeans Go Green™ during the Spring race weekend.

The U.S. cotton industry sees its role as a catalyst for change that will inspire ingenuity and improvement along the entire global supply chain.  To date, Blue Jeans Go Green™ has diverted more than 600 tons of waste from landfills and generated approximately 2 million square feet of UltraTouch™ Denim Insulation to assist with building efforts in communities in need.

Each year a portion of the denim insulation is given to communities in need – many of which have been affected by natural disasters.  Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona will be one of the primary beneficiaries of insulation manufactured from denim collected during the Blue Jeans Go Green™ 200 race weekend.
