Goodyear Racing outfitting Race Fans from Head to Toe

Goodyear Tire Company who has been synonymous with providing the racing tires NASCAR teams races on each weekend are now looking to outfit race fans. Earlier in March Goodyear started with what they know best with releasing a set of five separate shoe designs in which the soles mimic actual Goodyear tire tread designs that increase traction while walking on a variety of surfaces.

“Being able to extend our racing heritage into casual footwear, a growing category, enables us to introduce more consumers to the Goodyear family of products,” said Nancy Ray, director of licensed products at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. “We look forward to building upon the success of our safety and outdoor lines and connecting more people to our brand.”

Index Performance Racing and Groove Goodyear Racing designs both run at $60 going all the way up to Vulcan Var Canvas priced at $80 which started shipping to department stores back in late March.

This line fills the void for a racing-inspired footwear line not previously available on the U.S. market,” said Joseph Safdeye, executive vice president of SCL Footwear Group, the U.S. distributor for this line.

“In developing our Goodyear Performance Collection, our goal was to provide the end-consumer with Goodyear tread-inspired outsoles for maximum durability and traction. This collection provides avid racing fans and general consumers with a quality product at an affordable price, enabling them to express personal style and love for their favorite sport at the same time.”

Since the debut of the shoe line of products, Goodyear has partnered with Lucky Brands to bring a line of vintage style of t-shirts to race fans. Additionally to top it all off with the shoes and t-shirts Goodyear has bought together several trucker inspired vintage hats.

“As one of the world’s most respected and well-known brands, the Goodyear brand appeals to many consumers, whether they’re young or old, fans of auto racing or simply of lifestyle nostalgia,” said Nancy Ray, director of licensed products, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.  “Our association with Lucky Brand brings together Goodyear’s innovation, leadership, performance and more – all in a collection of casual, relaxed shirts enabling consumers to express their personal style.”
