Christopher Bell Sets Sights on First Career Road Course Start

Christopher Bell is back with Venturini Motorsports making his second career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start on Memorial Day weekend during the ARCA 150 presented by Unique Pretzels at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP).

Bell, who drove his JBL Toyota to victory lane during his ARCA series debut last month at Salem Speedway, will attempt his first-ever road course race at NJMP’s Thunderbolt Raceway on Saturday, May 28.

“I’ve done a lot of racing in my career but this will be an entirely new experience,” says Bell.

Making his second of five starts with Venturini Motorsports, Bell recently headed west to work with road course ace and instructor Chris Cook. In addition to competing with ARCA at NJMP, Bell is scheduled to make a late summer NASCAR Camping World Series (NCWTS) road course start at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

“Working with Chris was an awesome experience. He taught me a lot – he’s one of the best. One of the biggest take-a-ways from my time with Chris is being patient and concentrate on not making a lot of mistakes. If I can do that and run all the laps, I’ll be happy. I’m definitely up to the challenge.”

Driving full time for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the NCWTS, Bell has recently strung together three-consecutive top-10 finishes in his rookie campaign. He’s currently ninth in driver points and occupies the second spot in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings.
