Richard Childress Racing Development Driver, Ahnna Parkhurst to Compete Full-Time in Southeast Super Truck Series

Richard Childress Racing development driver, 15-year-old, Ahnna Parkhurst, will compete full-time in the Southeast Super Truck Series in 2016 and compete for the rookie of the year title in the regional touring series driving the No. 23 TGEN, K&N Filters Chevrolet.

The 2016 season for Southeast Super Truck Series will consist of 12 points races and one season opening special event at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC on February 6. The tour visits great short tracks in NC, SC, TN, and VA and provides a tremendous amount of competition, making it the ideal series for up and coming development drivers working their way up the racing ladder. Parkhurst’s career started in 2013 in a Mini-Outlaw. She was very impressive in her first season finding victory lane 12 times in 42 starts and finishing in the top-three 80% of the time. Her stats were impressive enough to gain the attention of the legendary Cup Series driver and car owner, Richard Childress, who signed the young star to a development contract in December of 2014.

The 2016 season will mark the first time Parkhurst will compete on asphalt. She will be making the jump from dirt, where she competed in 42 races in 2015 in a crate motor dirt late model.

The switch from dirt to asphalt is a tough transition for some drivers. Fortunately, for Parkhurst, she has the support of the Childress organization, as well as Austin and Ty Dillon, who both successfully made the dirt-to-asphalt transition, and now compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Xfinity Series respectively.

“We are extremely excited to have Ahnna racing with us this year. We feel the race tracks we compete at and the level of talent that races with us at each event will give Ahnna the experience she needs to quickly become competitive, as she makes her transition to asphalt racing”, said series owner, Jeff Myers.

Although the young driver from Evans, GA, is eager to transition to asphalt racing, she is not leaving the dirt track behind completely. In addition to the Southeast Super Truck Series, she also plans to compete in 35 to 40 dirt late model races throughout the southeast.

In addition to TGEN and K&N Filters, Parkhurst has a great group of partners supporting her in 2016 including:
