Levine Focused On Strong Finish To His Rookie Year

For the first time in David Levine’s racing career, September doesn’t mean back-to-school. The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards competitor earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies from Furman University in Greenville, SC earlier this year. Now, as Summer turns to Fall, he’s focused on a strong finish to his rookie ARCA Racing season.

“It’s great not worrying about going back to school, and trying to balance class and racing,” David recently commented. “We’ve only got four races left on the ARCA schedule, but we’re also testing at Salem, Kentucky and Kansas. The next six weeks may be the most important weeks of my racing career!”

David enters this weekend’s Southern Illinois 100 presented by Federated Car Care at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds at fifth in the ARCA Series driver points standings. He is leading the Scott Rookie Challenge standings. In his first career dirt track race two weeks ago at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, David collected a respectable seventh place finish.

David Levine on being prepared for DuQuoin State Fairgrounds: “Springfield was a ton of fun! I had no idea what to expect heading into the weekend. Now that I know what to expect at DuQuoin, I feel we will be a car to beat. Dirt racing is awesome!”

David will be signing hero cards, and giving away DriveForHeart.org heart-shaped stress balls! David had open heart surgery as an infant, and the stress balls are his way to raise awareness about congenital heart defects, and let race fans know how important living a healthy lifestyle is at any age. David has been a big supporter of the American Heart Association throughout his racing career.

On-track schedule: The ARCA Series drivers have one practice session, from 9:00-10:00am.
