Levine Ready To Pick Up Where He Left Off In June Race At Pocono

Just two months ago in the Pocono ARCA 200 at Pocono Raceway, David Levine raced his way to an 8th place finish, capturing his first Rookie of the Race award in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. It was his fifth career ARCA Racing top ten finish, and his first top ten on a Superspeedway.

Now, the driver of the Lira Motorsports Momo/Ford Performance/TraqGear Ford Fusion is set to return to the Northeast Pennsylvania “Tricky Triangle” this weekend for the ModSpace 125. Since the race in June, he has collected three more top ten finishes. He has maintained a solid lead in ARCA Racing’s Scott Rookie Challenge standings, and has also held the 5th position in the overall series driver points standings throughout the five events since the Pocono ARCA 200.

David has referred to his first race at Pocono as a learning experience, with dozens of changes made to the car in the open practice before the race, in race practice, and during the race, in order to build his comfort level on Pocono’s unique three-turn layout. With the ModSpace 125 being 30 laps (75 miles) shorter than the June race, David expects to get his No. 59 car up to speed faster this time around.

David Levine on returning to Pocono Raceway: “We had a great finish earlier this year at Pocono. With the shorter distance of this race, we need build off what we’ve already learned and hopefully just fine-tune the car in Friday’s practice. Qualifying well, and a quick pit stop will be key. Crew Chief Sam Schram and my Lira Motorsports crew have had my back all year, and I’m confident we can pick up where we left off in June. I really want another Rookie of the Race award!”

On-track schedule: The ARCA Racing Series drivers have a practice session on Friday, July 31st from 12:30-1:55pm. Menards Pole Qualifying Presented by Ansell begins Friday at 6:00pm. The start of the ModSpace 125 is scheduled for Saturday, August 1st at 3:15pm. The race will be televised live on FOX Sports 2, with coverage beginning at 3:00pm local time. Additionally, all on-track activity will be featured in live Timing & Scoring at arcaracing.com. The race is 50 laps (125 miles).
