Sandell, Dyne, and Davis head to Daytona looking for Podium Finishes

The Bryan Herta Rallysport team is headed back into the fight for the Red Bull Global Rallycross title this weekend at the legendary Daytona International Speedway. The Supercars of Patrik Sandell and Austin Dyne will again be joined by the GRC Lites car of Collete Davis for the second points race of the season.

Last year at Daytona, both Sandell and Dyne found some levels of success. Sandell qualified well, and finished fourth in the final. Dyne won his semi-final and ran well in the final until a cut tire damaged his suspension. This year, both BHR drivers are coming into the Daytona event ready to stand on the podium.

“Daytona was definitely one of my favorite tracks last year,” added Patrik Sandell. “It’s a very fast track, but also a very technical track. I think those two aspects suit my driving style very well. I am 100% sure, I will have a very good this weekend especially since it’s a double race weekend. As far as I know from the track map, they’ve tried to make the track even more flowing versus last year’s. There was one section last year that was very tight and everyone had to stop and restart from nearly zero. They really opened up that area, so it will be really good.”

“At X Games we got the car really good in the warm-up and were really fast in the first heat,” commented Austin Dyne. “So, we’re coming here with a very similar package, and hopefully it’ll be really fast off the gate. Last year here was pretty good, won the semi-final race. The track has a lot of fast and technical corners; it’s a pretty complete track. It’s a lot fun to drive here, lots of opportunities to pass. Should be a pretty good weekend here in Daytona!”

“Really looking forward to getting back in the car here in Daytona,” added Collete Davis. “It’ll be my first time racing in dirt or using the handbrake, so there’s definitely going to be a lot of learning this weekend, but River Racing is ready to rock .”

Viewers can catch the action from the infield at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, 6/21 at 2:00pm ET on NBC. Tickets to the event are still available, and can be purchased at the gate for only $35!
