Tickle Turns in Top 10 in Supercross Season Finale - Speedway Digest

In a season highlighted by a litany of top 10s, it was only appropriate that Broc Tickle, rider of the No. 20 RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy Johns/Suzuki Factory Racing RM-Z450, closed out the 2015 Monster Energy Supercross season, an FIM World Championship, with a 10th-place finish in Saturday night’s season finale at Sam Boyd Stadium.

The top-10 effort was Tickle’s 13th in 15 450SX races this season and when the dust settled Saturday night, the Holly, Mich., rider was eighth in the season-ending Monster Energy Supercross Championship point standings.

“I was really looking forward to Las Vegas and ending the Monster Energy Supercross season on a good note,” commented Tickle. “I feel like it was a solid season for me… coming back from the injury last year. I wanted more but that’s a good thing. We always strive to be better. I finished up eighth in points so a pretty solid year with the class we had.”

While Tickle was mostly pleased with his indoor season, he was quick to look ahead toward the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season-opener in Sacramento, Calif., and the 47th annual Hangtown Motocross Classic in two weeks.

“We’ve got a weekend off between now and when the outdoor season starts at Hangtown in two weeks so it should be fun,” Tickle continued. “I’m looking forward to outdoors. I feel really good on the bike. The team worked hard and Ivan (Tedesco) did a great job getting the bike set up. I think I’m going to come out for the outdoor season and surprise some people. I’ve had a lot of good days at the track since we started working on our outdoor program. It’s been fun.”

Despite losing Tickle’s teammate Ken Roczen for the balance of the Supercross season after he re-injured his left ankle at Daytona, RCH co-owner Carey Hart was still pleased with the team’s overall performance.

“We had a great night,” said Hart following Saturday night’s race. “Broc put in a solid ride. I’m sure he wanted to finish a couple of positions further forward but the track went away and he had a couple of rough first few turns. But, he settled in and rode solid. He had a solid season.

“We have a full two weeks leading up to Hangtown. We’re testing this week and we’ll come out swinging when the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series starts. Hopefully, we’ll have (Ken) Roczen on top of the box and Broc somewhere inside the top seven. I think that’s a pretty realistic goal. We’ll keep building from there. We had an incredible start to the season but we obviously hit a road block when Ken got hurt and Broc had to sit out a race. All of our sponsors, especially Soaring Eagle, Jimmy Johns and Suzuki, were 100 percent committed through it all and the whole team is exceptionally grateful for that type of support. Obviously, we can’t do any of this without help and RCH is fortunate to have marketing partners who get it and understand the challenges. We think we can reward their support with a bunch of wins and podiums when the outdoor season starts.”
