ARCA: Cody Coughlin Captures International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200 Pole

Cody Coughlin captured his first career ARCA Racing Series pole on Friday at the Talladega Superspeedway. Coughlin posted a lap of 50.968 seconds, 187.883 mph. in the fourth group of qualifying. The International Motorsports 200 on Friday afternoon will mark his 13th career start in the ARCA Series.

Tom Hessert, who comes into the weekend as the defending race winner, will roll from the second starting spot. Hessert posted a time of 51.144 seconds, 187.236 mph. The New Jersey native has only one top 10 finish this season in the No. 77 Dodge.

Blake Jones will take the green flag in the third starting spot on Friday afternoon. Jones posted a lap of 51.148 seconds, 187.221 mph. in the fourth group of qualifying. The 18-year old Tennessee native made his debut earlier this year at the Daytona International Speedway in February. Jones took his No. 22 Dodge to a finish of 17th.

Grant Enfinger, who is the series point’s leader and three-time winner through four races this season, will take the green flag in the 10th starting spot. Enfinger posted a lap of 51.799 seconds, 184.868 mph. The Alabama native sits 95 points ahead of Austin Wayne Self.

Bobby Gerhart, who holds nine career ARCA wins combined at Daytona and Talladega, will take the green flag in the eighth starting position. Gerhart sat atop the board momentary after he completed his time in group three.
