Austin Dyne to drive for Bryan Herta Rallysport

American Red Bull Global Rallycross (GRC) Supercar driver, Austin Dyne will run for the newly announced Bryan Herta Rallysport team in 2015. Dyne will drive the Castrol MAGNATEC™ sponsored #14 BHR prepared car beginning at the 2015 series debut race in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on May 30th

“Austin did an amazing job last year as a rookie, making almost every final round in the championship,” stated Herta. “With that experience under his belt, and support from Castrol MAGNATEC, we expect him to be fighting for wins this season.  Castrol has become a truly valued partner to the team, and we welcome the Castrol MAGNATEC brand to the team as they extend their tremendous support.”

2015 will be Dyne’s second season in the GRC Supercars after eight straight finals and posting a top five at X-Games in his rookie year. Dyne, 23, was Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series in 2012. While running the K&N Pro Series in 2013, Dyne also made the transition to GRC.

“I’ve known Bryan for a long time,” added Dyne. “He’s been one of my biggest mentors and helped me out a lot. This all came about last year with him helping me out in my rookie season in GRC. He brought some partners with him and we had a joint deal with another team. He saw we were struggling with an older car, and was determined to make 2015 much better. He went out and got the best car we could have in GRC, which is the M-Sport car. Its going to be an epic year and there’s no one else I would want to race for than Bryan. I feel I’ve finally found a home in racing with BHR.” “I feel the combination of what Bryan’s team has done in IndyCar will work really well on the GRC side and make us a top team for 2015. My goal is simple: win! But also consistency I feel will be very important. GRC can be very chaotic but if we have a goal of a top 5 every weekend we should be in good shape for the championship.” “It’s going to be awesome having Patrik Sandell as my teammate in 2015. He has a lot of experience in stage rally, and also this is his third season in GRC so I hope to learn some stuff from him. I feel with my Tarmac experience and his Dirt experience it will help us develop the car faster and be more successful as a team!”
