Virgin Racing sparks off election campaign

As David Cameron, Ed Milliband and Nick Clegg battle for Number 10, Virgin Racing driver’s Sam Bird and Jaime Alguersuari have their own FanBoost election campaign underway, starting with the release of their latest team broadcast: http://bit.ly/1xPiI1B.

FanBoost is a unique concept to motorsport which allows fans to directly influence the FIA Formula E race itself by voting for their favourite driver. The top three most voted for drivers on the grid then receive an extra five seconds of 30kw power to use around the street circuit, giving them a greater chance of overtaking.

Managing to separate himself from the gym for the day, Sam Bird travelled around London in an attempt to ‘plug in’ London to electric racing and kindly ask for people to vote for him in FanBoost.

Maintaining his annoying good-looks and rock-star persona throughout, Spaniard Jaime Alguersuari took to famous London landmarks with a megaphone in hand and a Virgin Racing rosette pinned to his chest convincing the British public to vote for him rather than his team-mate Bird.

With round six of the FIA Formula E Championship set to take place on Saturday 4th April in Long Beach, Los Angeles, California at 4pm local time, the Virgin Racing drivers are hopeful that their video will propel them to FanBoost victory, without having to engage in a public grilling from Jeremy Paxman.
