Wasting No Time Kimmel and Jones Set to Test at Daytona with New Supporting Cast

Fresh off yesterday’s team announcement Venturini Motorsports, along with new partners Ansell and Menard, is ready to get things started with Frank Kimmel and Brandon Jones behind the wheel at today’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards testing session at Daytona International Speedway.

As reported Kimmel and Jones will pair up for the 2015 ARCA season to drive the No.25 Ansell-Menards Toyota in quest of a team championship. Veteran crew chief Jamie Jones will lead the charge for Venturini Motorsports.

Today’s test will be the first appearance and on-track activity for both drivers with Venturini Motorsports; Kimmel will be testing the No.25 and Jones driving the No.25b car.

Kimmel, ARCA’s all-time victory leader, with 80 series wins, will attempt to capture his first victory at Daytona International Speedway when ARCA opens its 63rd season of competition on February 14. Daytona is one of just a handful of tracks the ARCA Racing Series visits where Kimmel has not won a race. Venturini Motorsports hopes to change that statistic and re-visit Daytona’s victory lane with Kimmel next month. Venturini Motorsports claimed victory at the World Center of Racing in 2013 with driver John Wes Townley.

Kimmel will be a driver, mentor, coach and spokesman at Venturini Motorsports. In addition to Daytona, Kimmel is expected to compete at Toledo Speedway; both Pocono events; Michigan International Speedway; Chicagoland Speedway; Berlin Raceway; the mile dirt tracks at both Springfield and DuQuoin, and the fall Salem event.

Jones, who will turn 18 on February 18, 2015, will utilize the ARCA testing session with Venturini Motorsports to gain experience and series approval for his scheduled superspeedway debut at Talladega on May 1st. Jones will kick off his 2015 ARCA schedule at Mobile International Speedway on March 14. His ARCA schedule will include the April Salem race event; Nashville; Talladega; New Jersey; Winchester; Iowa; Lucas Oil Raceway; Kentucky and Kansas.

ARCAracing.com will feature Daytona testing live timing and scoring of all on-track activities, scheduled today from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Track drying procedures are currently underway at Daytona from overnight rains.
