Snowflake 100: Bubba Pollard Claims First Career Snowflake 100 Win

Bubba Pollard captured the victory Sunday Morning at the Five Flags Speedway after the Snowflake 100 was delayed for more than seven hours. Pollard claimed his first career win in his ninth attempt after starting the night from eighth. He finished second previously in this event twice.

John Hunter Nemechek finished in the runner-up spot for the second consecutive time of his career. Tonight marked just his second start as he battled with the leader all night long. Despite leading numerous laps during the event, Nemechek fell just shy of the victory by 0.641 seconds.

Garrett Jones will sneak away with a third-place finishing effort after capitalizing on other drivers mistakes all race long. Jones had some work to do after qualifying as they had to transfer to make the race. After transfering into the event, and once the green flag started the race, Jones drove hard to shatter his previous best finish of 17th. He was just 5.898 seconds from scoring the win.

Augie Grill, who started the event from the pole, had some issues with the tail-pipe sticking out of his No. 112 car around the halfway point. He then got shuffled to the back and will leave the Five Flags Speedway with a very disapointing finish. Grill came into the night making his 10th start in the Snowflake 100 where he has two previous wins.

More action will occur on Sunday at the Five Flags Speedway as the 47th annual Snowball Derby will invade the half-mile short track. Fans can watch live coverage of the event on Speed51.com’s pay-per-view television.
