Bill McAnally Racing drivers know the pressure will be on them when the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West visits All American Speedway on Saturday for the Toyota/NAPA AUTO PARTS 150.
The third-mile oval in Roseville, California is the home track to BMR, which is based nearby, and where the team has dominated series competition in recent years.
BMR drivers won six of eight series races at Roseville from 2008 to 2011. Three-time series champion Eric Holmes scored four of those victories, while Paulie Harraka accounted for the other two.
Winning at All American Speedway has added meaning for BMR President Bill McAnally, who launched his racing career there as a driver and won a NASCAR track championship in 1990. BMR also promotes the event, which is sponsored by its partners – Toyota and NAPA AUTO PARTS.
“We look forward to the Roseville race all season,” said McAnally. “It’s great to see all of the sponsors, friends and family who turn out to cheer on the BMR teams. I worked my way up through the ranks racing at All American Speedway and I truly appreciate the support of the fans there.”
The lineup of BMR drivers for this year’s NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event features two-time Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip; along with Brandon McReynolds, Gracin Raz and Christian PaHud. In addition, BMR has also prepared an entry for Nicole Behar.
Waltrip, the co-owner of a multi-car NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team, is also a contestant on this season’s “Dancing With The Stars” television show on ABC. The Owensboro, Kentucky native – who will pilot the No. 1 Green 1 Toyota at Roseville – has made eight starts in the K&N West, including five in the past four years. He has one series win, which came in 1997, along with three top-five and five top-10 finishes. Last year, in his only previous visit to Roseville, he was sidelined midway through the race with transmission trouble.
McReynolds, in his first full season of competing in the series, drives BMR’s No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota. The 23-year-old from Mooresville, North Carolina will be looking to extend his string of eight consecutive top-five finishes, as he makes his first series start at Roseville.
A member of the NASCAR Next program that spotlights NASCAR’s rising stars, McReynolds is third in the championship standings. He has two poles, 10 top five and 11 top-10 finishes in 12 series starts this year.
Raz, who will be driving the No. 7 NAPA Filters Toyota, is a 17-year-old from Lake Oswego, Oregon. He finished sixth for BMR earlier this season at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington in his only series start.
PaHud, 21, of Dayton, Ohio won this year’s PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge – giving him the opportunity to drive BMR’s No. 99 PEAK Toyota at Roseville in his debut in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.
Behar – a 16-year-old from Spokane, Washington – finished sixth earlier this season in her first of two series starts.
The Toyota/NAPA AUTO PARTS 150, which is to be televised on FOX Sports 1 on Oct. 17 at 1:30 p.m. ET, is the 13th event of 14-race series schedule
