ARCA: Hessert Scores Victory at Talladega

Tom Hessert, who led the final three laps of the ARCA Racing Series race this morning at Talladega, captured his fourth career victory in the series. Hessert, which was a pretty tame race through the event which saw only one caution, was able to sneak his way to the front to win the event. He started the event from the seventh position.

Coming home in second was 2013 Daytona winner, John Wes Townley. He led a total of 19 laps of the race but had to settle for second as he was 0.140 seconds. Today marked his third top-10 finish of this season after having a bad weekend last week at Salem where he fell out early due to a crash.

Finishing third in his best finish in the ARCA Racing Series was Austin Wayne Self. Self was running upfront a couple of times today but just couldn’t quite lead a lap. Self started the event from the 10th spot. He leaves Talladega Superspeedway with an average finish of 6.3.

Pole sitter Grant Enfinger led 35 laps of the event this weekend but fell short of the win this afternoon. Enfinger came into today looking to score his fourth win of the season to become the first ARCA driver to do so. Enfinger will take home a ninth place finish after getting busted for speeding when he pitted the first time.
