Flo Rida to wave green flag for NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion

South Florida native and rapper/pop star Flo Rida will serve as the honorary starter and wave the green flag for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship finale, the Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday, November 15.

Tramar Dillard, also known as “Flo Rida,” was born and raised in Miami Gardens, located in north Miami-Dade County. He is best known for his hit singles “Low” featuring T-Pain, which was a No. 1 hit for 10 weeks in 2008, and “Right Round” featuring Kesha, which was a No. 1 hit for six weeks. He has released four albums since breaking into the hip-hop scene in 2008, and his music has accumulated more than 80 million downloads worldwide.

“We are thrilled to introduce Flo Rida to Homestead-Miami Speedway and NASCAR during Ford Championship Weekend,” Homestead-Miami Speedway President Matthew Becherer said. “He will get to experience first-hand the excitement of waving the green flag to start the championship race for the NASCAR Nationwide Series, and watch as the cars take their first lap in the final race of their season.”

Flo Rida is currently working on his fifth studio album, set to be released in 2014. He will be introducing his new single, “Going Down for Real” during Ford Championship Weekend.
