Earnhardt challenges Monster Mile

Jeffrey Earnhardt is ready for another shot at the Monster Mile.

Earnhardt, driving the No. 4 Chevrolet for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller, will make his third Nationwide Series start at the super-fast one-mile track in Saturday’s Dover 200, the 28th race of the season.

Earnhardt, competing full-time in the Nationwide Series for the first time, finished 30th in the May race at Dover.

“Dover is one of the fastest mile tracks anywhere, and you really feel it in the race car,” Earnhardt said. “It’s like a roller-coaster, except you have more control. Well, most of the time, anyway. We’re looking forward to getting back there and improving on the first race.”

Earnhardt is 18th in Nationwide points entering the race. He will drive the No. 4 Heroes Haven/Austin Hatcher Foundation Chevrolet in Saturday’s race.

The track will open for Nationwide practice at 10 a.m. Friday. Another session is scheduled at 2 p.m.
