John Wes Townley Heads Home to Georgia for NNS Race in Zaxby’s Toyota

Watkinsville, Georgia driver, John Wes Townley is ready to take on Atlanta Motor Speedway Saturday, August 30, 2014 in the No. 25 Zaxby’s Athenian Motorsports Toyota Camry in the running of the Great Clips 300 to benefit FEED the Children.

Townley has quite a history at Atlanta Motor Speedway while growing up.  He was nine years old when his father and grandfather first took him to watch a Sprint Cup Series race at the 1.54-mile Hampton, GA track.  Not long after Townley was winning Bandolero races at Atlanta Motor Speedway
and the Georgia State Championship at 11 years of age.

“I love going back to Atlanta to race,” John Wes Townley said.  “It is always cool to go back to a track that you raced at coming up!  Atlanta is a fast track, a lot two and three wide racing which is exciting for the fans.  Atlanta is close to home and Zaxby’s Headquarters so I’m really hoping to have a good finish for them this weekend.”

Townley has one previous NASCAR Nationwide Series start at Atlanta Motor Speedway; posting a 22nd place finish in 2010 and one Camping World Truck Series start finishing 19th in 2012.
