A long, rainy night at Bristol Motor Speedway resulted in a 22nd-place finish for Landon Cassill in Friday night’s Food City 300 Nationwide Series race.
Cassill qualified 17th but couldn’t move through the field.
The start of the race was delayed by rain for an hour, and more rain threatened during the event. After the race, a downpour soaked the speedway area.
“We couldn’t get the car exactly like we wanted it,” Cassill said. “We were looking for better results here, but we’ll move on. Still looking for that top 10.”
The finish kept Cassill in 11th place in Nationwide points.
Ryan Blaney charged late to win the race. Chase Elliott remains in the series point lead.
