Kyle Busch / No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Team Preview Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway

This Friday the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) will return to the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile” at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway to compete in the extended Food City 300 on Friday night. Kyle Busch is the returning 0.533-mile track winner from the Spring Bristol Nationwide Series event, when he started second, took over the lead and paced the field in first place, for 120 of 300 laps, to take home the victory. In fact Busch and this No. 54 team have been the race winners here over the last three events including the spring and fall 2013 races. This year Busch has piloted the No. 54 Monster Energy Nationwide Series car 16 times, yielding three wins, four pole positions, 15 top-five and 15 top-10 finishes. He and the No. 54 team join forces again this week looking for their fifth total win of the year.

Over his career, the Las Vegas native is no stranger to success on the high banks of Bristol. In 47 races across all three of NASCAR’s premier series, the 29-year old has amassed 16 wins, five poles, 26 top-five finishes, 34 top-10 finishes and 2,730 laps led. In the Nationwide Series specifically, in 20 starts, Busch has recorded seven wins, three poles, 13 top-five finishes and 16 top-10 finishes. He is the last driver to win from the pole position at BMS during a Nationwide Series event, done in August of 2013. Busch started from the front-row, second-place position, before taking home the checkered flag earlier this year.

The No. 54 Monster Energy team’s crew chief Adam Stevens is also no stranger to success on these high banks. Stevens has achieved victory with this team the last four visits to Bristol, during the fall 2012 event with former driver Joey Logano, both 2013 events and this past spring race with Busch. Stevens and Busch are the perfect combination to tackle the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile” once more, and notch another victory in the belts of the No. 54 Monster Energy team this season.
