John Wes Townley to Make First Start at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in NASCAR Nationwide Series

John Wes Townley piloting the No. 25 Zaxby’s / The Identical Athenian Motorsports Toyota Camry will make his first start on the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway Saturday, July 26, 2014 in the running of the Lilly Diabetes 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

Townley made his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut in 2008 and has hardly been a rookie but the Watkinsville, Georgia driver will be attempting to make his first start on the 2.5-mile Indianapolis, Indiana race track.

“It is a little intimidating to be racing on one of the most famous racetracks in the world,” John Wes Townley said.  “The Brickyard has a vast amount of history in all forms of auto racing and I’m thrilled with the opportunity to race in the Nationwide Series there.  I’ve been watching the race tapes and really trying to learn the track from a far.  I’ve asked my crew chief, Mike Beam and other drivers but until you get there, you really just don’t know.  This team has been improving every week and I look forward to a solid finish for Athenian, Zaxby’s and the movie The Identical.”

Townley will carry ‘The Identical’ movie (www.TheIdenticalMovie.com) on the No. 25 Athenian Motorsports Toyota Camry at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway. The Identical opens September 5, 2014 and stars Blake Rayne, Ashley Judd and Ray Liotta.  Additionally, Townley will appear in the movie’s music video for “BEE BOPPIN BABY” that will coincide with the movie release in September.
