Jeffrey Earnhardt rallied from a starting spot deep in the field to finish 23rd in Saturday’s Sta-Green 200 Nationwide Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Earnhardt started 37th on a track that makes passing very difficult. Still nursing a hurt shoulder, Earnhardt exited the car on the first pit stop and was replaced by relief driver Matt Dibenedetto, who finished the race.
“We got in a hole with that starting spot, but the car ran pretty good after we got rolling,” Earnhardt said. “We were looking for a better finish, but, with Matt’s help, we got a lot of laps in and learned some stuff.”
Earnhardt stayed 17th in Nationwide points as he continues his first full season in the series.
