Earnhardt ready to tackle Monster

Dover International Speedway is one of the most imposing tracks in NASCAR.

Only one mile long but very high-banked, Dover produces very fast speeds, and there is little time to react to accidents. As drivers frequently point out, there are few single-car wrecks at Dover.

The track has earned its Monster Mile nickname.

“I’ve only raced there once, but I have a lot of respect for the track,” said Jeffrey Earnhardt, who’ll drive the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet in Saturday’s Buckle Up 200. “I love the high speeds there, but you really have to be on your toes all the time because you don’t know what might happen from one turn to the next. It’s really a driver’s track.”

Earnhardt, racing his first full season in Nationwide, rides into Dover in 15th in Nationwide driver points.
