Townley Ready for Charlotte NNS Race with Athenian Motorsports

John Wes Townley will return to Charlotte Motor Speedway Saturday, May 24th for the running of the History 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race in the No. 25 Zaxby’s Toyota Camry.

Townley is coming off a fourth-place finish in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at the 1.5-mile Concord, NC speedway last Friday.  Townley and Athenian Motorsports hope to repeat the solid finish.

In Athenian Motorsports Nationwide Series debut, Townley posted a 13th-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway.

Townley has three Camping World Truck Series starts and four NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“This Athenian Motorsports team had a really good run in our first NNS race out at Talladega a few weeks ago,” John Wes Townley said.  “After a strong finish in the Truck Series last week at Charlotte, we are hoping that will carry over to the Nationwide Insurance race this Saturday.  I know the guys in the shop have been working hard to get the car ready and I’m looking forward to putting on a great race for Zaxby’s, Toyota and especially the fans.”

The History 300 (200 Laps, 300 Miles) NASCAR Nationwide Series race is slated to begin at 2:45 Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
