TriStar Motorsports O’Reilly Auto Parts 300: Post Race

The first NASCAR Nationwide Series night race of the 2014 season is complete from Texas Motor Speedway. Teams made laps during both practice sessions, but rain halted the final practice session on Thursday night. All of the TriStar Motorsports teams were ready to qualify on Friday afternoon and get prepped for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 Fridaynight.

 

David Starr Finishes 15th at Texas Motor Speedway

 

David Starr and the No. 44 Whataburger Toyota Camry qualified 12th for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at his home track, Texas Motor Speedway.  When the first caution flag came out, Starr reported that the car was a little tight and the No. 44 Whataburger crew made small adjustments to free up the Toyota Camry. On lap 56, the caution flag flew once again and Starr came in for fuel only. Gaining 30 drivers points, David Starr and the No. 44 Whataburger Camry brought home a 15th place finish at Texas Motor Speedway.

 

Eric McClure Finishes 24th at Texas Motor Speedway

 

Eric McClure and the No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry qualified 29rd for the first NASCAR Nationwide Series night race of the 2014 season. McClure was fast throughout the race as the team continued to make adjustments to help with the handling of the No. 14 Camry. On lap 56, the caution flag waved and McClure came to pit road for four tires, fuel and a wedge adjustment. McClure finished 24th at Texas and gained 20 drivers points during the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300.

 

Mike Bliss Finishes 32nd at Texas Motor Speedway

 

Mike Bliss and the No. 19 Support Military Foundation/Tweaker Energy Shot Toyota Camry qualified 15th on Friday for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Early into the race, Bliss brought the No. 19 Camry to pit road because of technical errors, where the team directed him back to the garage for further evaluation. Once Bliss returned to the track, he continued having technical errors, which the team continued to work on. Bliss finished the race 32nd, 81 laps down.

 

Blake Koch Finishes 40th at Texas Motor Speedway 

 

Blake Koch and the No. 10 Support Military Foundation Camry qualified 40th for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 and finished in the 40th position. 

 

Next weekend the NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to Darlington Raceway for the VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200.
