Justin Allgaier NNS Preview: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

Inaugural Race…The NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) heads to its third and final road course race this season. Allgaier will be making his first career start at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (Mid-Ohio). Road course races bode well for Allgaier statistically, who finished second at Road America earlier this season and seventh last weekend at Watkins Glen International (WGI).

Nationwide Patient Champion…This weekend Allgaier’s No. 31 AccuDoc Solutions/Nationwide Children’s Hospital Chevrolet will carry the face of Nationwide Children’s Hospital patient champion Marcus Harris. The six-year-old Harris, from Carolina Shores, N.C., was diagnosed with congenital heart disease before he was born and had open heart surgery immediately after birth. Harris has a great sense of humor and is an aspiring artist. To learn more information and make a donation, please visit http://www.nationwidechildrens.org/justin-allgaier.

Allgaier will also have an additional over-the-shoulder camera providing fans with another unique view as he navigates his way around the 13-turn road course during the inaugural race.

Watkins Glen Recap…The NNS completed its second road course stop of the season at WGI. Allgaier qualified his No. 31 BRANDT Chevrolet Camaro sixth for the Zippo 200. After 82 laps of road racing at WGI and running as high as the second position, Allgaier brought his No. 31 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet Camaro home to a career-best seventh-place finish at WGI for Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM). With his finish at WGI, Allgaier is currently sixth in the NNS Driver Point Standings.

This Week’s Camaro…This weekend the No. 31 AccuDoc Solutions/Nationwide Children’s Hospital Chevrolet Camaro  team will utilize chassis TSM-305. TSM-305 was used at Road America earlier this season and Allgaier brought it home to a second-place finish.

Crew chief Scott Zipadelli on Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course:

“It’s our first time at Mid-Ohio [Sports Car Course] and our final road course this season, so we will use the testing time on Thursday to try several different things. Justin has done really well at the road course races this season, so I expect us to have another good result. We have to play our pit strategy correctly and have a clean car at the end to have a shot at winning.”

Justin Allgaier on Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course:

“I’m excited to get to Mid-Ohio [Sports Car Course]. It’s a new track on the schedule which we don’t get very often in the Nationwide Series. Obviously, winning the inaugural race is important and it would be a huge deal for my team and everyone at Turner Scott Motorsports. Our road-racing program at TSM has been really, really strong so it’s a race that I’ve had circled on the schedule and look forward to going to. I’ve done a lot of iRacing trying to learn the track. I’ve been watching old races of other series that have raced there to try and learn everything I can. It should be a great event and I’m really looking forward to it.”
