TriStar Motorsports Notes & Quotes Chicago

After last weekend’s race in New Hampshire, our teams will pack up and head to the Windy City.  The NASCAR Nationwide Series will be center stage this weekend with Sunday’s STP 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Bliss to Make 10th Chicagoland Start (@MikeBliss19):

Mike Bliss will stride into Chicago as a veteran with momentum after earning his 14th top-20 finish of the 2013 Nationwide Series season last weekend.

  No. 19 New Hampshire

“Like most teams, we’ve had our ups and downs this season,” said Bliss. “I’m glad we have our consistency back going into Chicago. This is a great track that has some trick characteristics that set it aside from other 1.5 mile tracks.”

Bliss will make his 10th start at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend. In his previous attempts, Bliss has earned two top-10 finishes. His best finish came in 2009 when he finished ninth.

Green Ready to Rock at Chicago:

This Sunday, the STP 300 will mark Jeff Green’s seventh start at Chicagoland Speedway.

“Chicago is a fun and fast track,” said Green. “In the past this track has produced some close finishes, so I think the fans are in for a great show.”

Chicagoland is Familiar to NASCAR Rookie Hackenbracht (@Hockensomethin):

Chad Hackenbracht New Hampshire

Following his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut, Chad Hackenbracht will enter a track where he’s shown previous success in his racing career. Unlike New Hampshire Motor Speedway, a new track to the NASCAR rookie, Hackenbracht has competed at Chicagoland Speedway three times in the ARCA Racing Series.

“I really enjoy racing at high-banked race tracks and Chicago is one of those in my book. I’m glad to have my debut in the books and head to a track where I’ve lead laps and was racing for a win at,” said Hackenbracht.

The 21-year-old will compete in his second NASCAR Nationwide Series race this weekend. Prior to a blown tire resulting in a 20th place finish, he led 67 laps and had a 9.6 second advantage over his ARCA Racing Series competitors in 2011.

McClure Looking for a Boost in “The Windy City” (@ericmcclure):

Eric McClure will make his ninth start at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend in the No. 14 Hefty® / Reynolds® Toyota Camry.  His best finish at the 1.5 mile D-shaped tri-oval was 18th in 20 No. 14 New Hampshire 11. Crew chief Todd Myers and the crew have prepared chassis No. 12 for McClure’s 217th NASCAR Nationwide Series start on Sunday.
