Déjà Vu…The NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) heads to Daytona International Speedway (DIS) for the second event of the season at the famed Florida track. For the first time in his career, Larson is heading back to a track that he has already raced in a Nationwide Series car. Larson’s previous start at the 2.5-mile superspeedway came in the NNS season opener in February, where he started 21st and battled for the lead before ultimately finishing 13th. Larson also finished second in the ARCA Racing Series event at DIS earlier this year.
Come Say Hi…Larson will participate in the NNS autograph session along with his Turner Scott Motorsports teammates and other NNS drivers at DIS. The session is on Friday, July 5 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. EDT in the Sprint Fan Zone.
This Week’s Camaro…Crew chief Trent Owens and the No. 32 Clorox team have prepared chassis TSM-336 for competition this weekend at Daytona International Speedway. TSM-336 is the same chassis Larson brought to Talladega in May.
DASH 4 CASH…Last weekend’s seventh-place finish at Kentucky Speedway qualified Larson for the Nationwide Dash 4 Cash, making him one of the four competitors competing for a $100,000 bonus at Daytona International Speedway. The top-four finishers from the Kentucky NNS race running for Nationwide Series Driver Points [Austin Dillon, Elliot Sadler, Brian Vickers and Larson] will compete in the first Dash 4 Cash event this weekend in Daytona. The highest finisher among the four drivers will receive the $100,000 prize and will also automatically qualify as one of the four in the following week’s Dash 4 Cash in New Hampshire.
Previous Race Recap…Larson used the experience he had from previously racing at Kentucky Speedway to work his way up from a starting spot of 21st to finish in seventh place before the skies opened up and forced the Feed The Children 300 to finish 30 laps early. Larson earned his seventh-consecutive top-10 finish, his 10th overall in 2013.
