Justin Lofton Texas Motor Speedway Speedway Event Preview

No. 6 Weekend Warriors Productions / Lofton Cattle Chevrolet News and Notes

  • Tough break in Martinsville…Justin Lofton and the No. 6 Weekends Warriors Productions / Lofton Cattle Chevrolet qualified 14th and battled up to the top 10 in the Kroger 200 on Saturday, where he ran for most of the day. But, on lap 197 (of 200) his left rear tire was punctured. Fighting to hold on to the truck, Lofton spun on Lap 199, but managed to hobble across the finish line to end the day on the lead lap in 19th position.

  • Black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow… Paint schemes are an important part of a driver’s image. Traditionally, it is the sponsor that dictates the color scheme, the decal location and the layout. These color schemes become iconic to the driver’s identity both on and off of the track. As the search for sponsorship continues, Lofton has utilized a design scheme that is unique to his style. Week after week Lofton keeps the same design, but changes up the colors of the stripes. Thus far, Lofton has run an Orange, Blue, Green and yellow. In the month of October the scheme was pink, in support for Breast Cancer Awareness. This week in Texas the scheme moves back to a day-glow yellow.

  • Lofton and Crafton draft each other from Charlotte to Texas and continue on to Phoenix… As if racing against each other week in and week out is not enough time together, Lofton and fellow NCWTS driver Matt Crafton are caravanning their motorhomes from Charlotte to Texas together, for this weekend’s race, and then continuing on the 2,100 mile trip to Phoenix…. drafting at 65 mph in motorhomes.

    From the Driver’s Seat

Justin Lofton Quotes… On last weeks race at Martinsville Speedway: “I felt like I was passing everybody on the track,” said Lofton. “The No. 6 Chevrolet was running so strong and the truck was really turning well. I thought that the team did all that they could to put me where I needed to be, and when we gambled on the two left-side tire stop, I thought that we had a great chance for a strong finish.”

On this weeks race at Texas Motor Speedway: “I’m looking forward to racing at Texas Motor Speedway. We started in the front in the June Texas race (Qualifying was rained, so starting order was based on drivers points) and we had a good run. We should’ve finished better, but I’m looking forward to getting back there and redeeming myself.

From the Pit Box

Crew Chief Eddie Troconis Quote… On racing at Texas Motor Speedway: “I like racing in Texas. We had a great truck there in June and we raced very well. I have great confidence in my driver and crew, and this is one of our better we all are due for a good finish.
