Texas Truck Stop

Kyle Busch will kick off his weekend of triple duty by competing in Friday evening’s WinStar World Casino 350, followed by Saturday’s Nationwide Series O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge and Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series AAA Texas 500.

This will be the eighth consecutive season that Busch competes in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series fall race at Texas Motor Speedway, where he owns five top-five finishes and two victories (2009, ’10). He will be driving the No. 18 Dollar General Toyota for Kyle Busch Motorsports in only his second NCWTS start of the season. His other start came at Atlanta, where he finished second.

Busch was scheduled to run the triple in last year’s fall weekend, but that plan was derailed by his actions in this race. On Lap 15 of the WinStar World Casino 350, Busch and Ron Hornaday Jr. got tangled up and Busch retaliated by intentionally wrecking Hornaday Jr. during the caution and subsequently ending the veteran’s chances for the championship. Busch was subsequently parked by NASCAR for the remainder of the weekend, prohibiting him from competing in the Nationwide and Sprint Cup races.
