Kligerman, RBR look to build on momentum at Atlanta

Fresh off of a third-place finish in the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway, Parker Kligerman and the Ricky Benton Racing (RBR) Enterprises BTS Tire and Wheel Distributors/Valvoline/Goodyear Commercial Tire Network Ford F-150 team are heading to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Georgia 200 with a head full of steam.

“Daytona was huge for us,” said Kligerman, who will be making his second start for the RBR team at Atlanta. “I know it sounds clichéd, but I really feel like we built some chemistry between (crew chief) Mike (Hester), the team and me. So much of this sport is about being able to communicate with your team; making sure that they know what mean when you talk about the truck and you know what they are talking about.

“We made great strides at Daytona.”

But Kligerman has no illusions that Atlanta will be a different challenge for the team.

“With the competition in this series – especially with the number of full-time teams – I think a top 10 will be a successful day for us. I am confident that we can make that happen; this team has made great strides in their 1.5-mile program over the last couple of years and I am sure it will pay off for us this week.

“We want to bring home a clean truck and learn something that we can use later in the season.”

Hester likes what he saw in his team’s new driver and feels like the more they work together, the more consistency they will find.

“The finish at Daytona was great for us,” Hester said, “but more importantly we learned a lot about what Parker wants out of the truck. As we progress through the season, I think that will only improve. Hopefully we can run a whole lot more races together.”
