Kvapil Finishes 18th in Las Vegas

Travis Kvapil, driver of the No. 1 LandWorks Solutions Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS), races to another top-20 finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a 18th place finish.

The No. 1 LandWorks Solutions Chevrolet started off practice struggling with a high pitch vibration and issues with the rough racing surface. The schedule allowed for plenty of practice time and the crew went to work improving the Chevrolet Silverado for Travis Kvapil. They changed the driveshaft and front shocks to alleviate the issues. Kvapil would start the Rhino Linings 350 in the 21st position. Travis began his march forward running decent top-15 lap times, which would stay consistent through out the night. After the hard hit of Austin Theriault, Travis and team opted to pit later in the caution period allowing him to lead a lap gaining a bonus point. Kvapil fought a truck that had very little front grip. During the next two cautions the team would make adjustments and fueling to help with this handling issue. Travis was now in the top 20 and the race was settling into a fast pace. Having fueled during the later cautions allowed for the No. 1 LandWorks Solutions Chevrolet to run several more laps than most of the other trucks bringing Kvapil up to 4th at one point on the night. However the cautions did not fall in the No. 1’s favor so the Chevrolet Silverado had to make one last stop on pit road for four tires and fuel but was good to go until the checkered flag. There was a moment of worry for the entire team as Travis Kvapil reported that he might have a flat left rear tire with roughly 30 to go. The crew scrambled and Kvapil was able to diagnose it as possibly something different so he chose to stay out. The No. 1 LandWorks Solutions Chevrolet of Travis Kvapil Finished up Rhino Linings 350 in the 18th position.
