NCWTS: Darrell Wallace Jr. Earns Kroger 200 Pole

Darrell Wallace Jr. will start on the pole at the Martinsville Speedway after posting a fast time of 19.679 seconds, 96.224 mph. Wallace earned his fifth career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pole on Saturday morning. It’ll be the 14th time of the year that the 21-year-old has started an event from the top-10.

Starting in second will be last weekend’s winner at the Talladega Superspeedway, Timothy Peters. Peters posted a fast time of 19.685 seconds, 96.195 mph. The 33-year-old was 0.006 seconds short of earning his first pole since 2012. He hopes the runner-up qualifying effort will help take him to his second Martinsville Speedway win.

Matt Crafton, who currently leads the series points standings, will roll from the third spot Saturday afternoon. Crafton posted a fast time of 19.698 seconds, 96.132 mph. after taking four laps in the final round of qualifying. Like Wallace, this qualifying effort marks the 14th time of the season that he will start a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race from the top-10. He hopes to capture his second win today at Martinsville.

With 38 trucks showing up, it means that two drivers will be going home. Dustin Hapka and Charles Buchanan Jr. will be those two drivers. There were numerous spins throughout the morning of qualifying that caused it to end late.
