Kyle Larson NCWTS Preview: Pocono Raceway

In It To Win It…Returning to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) with Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) for the second time this season, Kyle Larson hopes to tame the Tricky Triangle in the No. 32 Cartwheel by Target Chevrolet Silverado. Although it will be his first time on the 2.5-mile tri-oval in a truck, Larson and his TSM team claimed victory in the ARCA Racing Series last month after leading 66 of the race’s 80 laps.

Just A Short Break…Larson will have full focus on the NCWTS race Saturday afternoon at Pocono Raceway while his TSM teammate, Dylan Kwasniewski, drives the No. 42 Nationwide Series car at Iowa Speedway. Larson will return to the Nationwide Series next weekend at Watkins Glen International.

This Week’s Silverado…Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. and the No. 32 TSM team will unload a brand-new chassis at Pocono. Fresh out of the wind tunnel, TSM-606 will make its first laps around the Tricky Triangle this weekend.

Mobile Savings Made Easy…This weekend in Pocono, the No. 32 truck will sport the Cartwheel by Target paint scheme. With the Cartwheel app, you no longer need to spend time clipping coupons and chasing deals. With discounts ranging from 5% to 30% off, you can choose what you want to save on, every time you shop at Target. You can access Cartwheel via desktop, at http://cartwheel.target.com, or by downloading the app from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Previous Race Recap…In his grand return to dirt with the NCWTS, Larson stole the show with his wall-scraping, slide job-making moves at a track he’s more than familiar with: Eldora Speedway. Making contact with the wall several times throughout the 1-800-CarCash Mudsummer Classic, Larson continued to make daring moves around the track, and his persistence paid off when he took the lead in the second race segment. After dropping to second following the restart, Larson caught the wall one final time as he approached Turn 3 and broke a brake rotor on his truck. As the packed crowd watched in shock and disappointment, Larson drove the No. 32 Glad Chevy behind the wall, ultimately finishing two laps down in the 26th position.

Watch and Listen…Tune in as Larson and the NCWTS try their luck at the Tricky Triangle. The Pocono Mountains 150 can be seen live on Saturday, August 2 beginning at 12:30 p.m. EDT on FOX Sports 1, and can also be heard live on MRN Radio and SIRIUS XM, Channel 90.

Kyle Larson on Racing at Pocono Raceway

“I hope we can get another win at Pocono this weekend. My Turner Scott Motorsports team and I had a solid run in the ARCA race last month, and I learned a lot that I plan to use this weekend. Pocono is a really complex track. Racing in ARCA and my Cup car has better prepared me, but I know it’ll be a completely different feeling in the truck. I’m excited to work with Hillman again; we had fun in Eldora. Hopefully we have a better end result this weekend.”
