Townley Ready to Take On Kansas with Wauters Motorsports

John Wes Townley will take to the Kansas Speedway for the running of the SFP 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event, Friday, May 9, 2014 piloting the No. 5 Zaxby’s Toyota Tundra.

Townley just missed having his truck series career best finish of third-place at Martinsville Speedway in March but was spun on the last lap.  He and the No. 5 Wauters Motorsports team look to reclaim that top-five finish in the inaugural night race on the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway.

Kansas will serve as the Camping World Truck Series first race on an intermediate size track in 2014.

Townley has six previous starts at the Kansas City, Kansas track in the NASCAR Nationwide, NASCAR Camping World Truck and ARCA Racing Series’.  His best finish came in 2013 where he posted a third-place finish in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.

“I’m looking forward to being back in the truck here in Kansas,” John Wes Townley said.  “The trucks races will start to be a lot more frequent, which is great for the drivers, teams and fans.  I’ve always run pretty well at Kansas in the past.  If we run as good as we did in Martinsville, I don’t see why we can’t have a top-five.  We’ll just go out there, do the best that we can, stay out of trouble and hopefully get us one.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series SFP 250 at Kansas Speedway is slated to begin Friday, May 9, 2014 at 8:30pm.
