Busy week for Leavine Family Racing

Michael McDowell and Leavine Family Racing are on the go this week with a three-day test taking place mid-week at Phoenix International Raceway and then heading straight to Talladega Superspeedway for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race weekend.

“It’s always a good week when I can spend most of my time in a race car,” said McDowell.  “This is a good stretch of races for us at the end of the season.  I’m excited to be in the car and making progress to finish out the season strong.”

“This test at Phoenix is a good opportunity for us to continue to build our database,” said crew chief Wally Rogers.  “We saw improvement at Charlotte and are working to build on that further.”

The team is looking forward to taking their No. 95 Jordan Truck Sales Ford Fusion to Talladega Superspeedway this weekend as their season best performance has come at a superspeedway – a seventh place finish at Daytona this summer.

“Anything can happen at Talladega and we plan to make the most of our opportunities there,” said crew chief Wally Rogers.  “We’ve had some good luck and bad luck at the superspeedways this season, but we’ve got a good car and will be ready to make the most of it this weekend.”

The No. 95 will sport a pink paint scheme at Talladega for Breast Cancer Awareness month.  According to the American Cancer Society, “breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States (other than skin cancer).”  Information about early detection can be found at www.cancer.org.
