NSCS: Kevin Harvick on Pole at Kansas Speedway

Keven Harvick claimed the pole for Saturday’s 5-hour Energy 400 at the Kansas Speedway after posting a fast time of 27.799 seconds, 194.252 mph. Harvick is no stranger at the 1.5-mile oval as he also won the pole back here in October, then went on to win the race. Since the season begun in February, this is the sixth time of the 2014 season a track record was broken.

Starting in the second position will be Joey Logano after posting a fast time of 27.848 seconds, 193.910 mph. Saturday night will be his eighth top-10 start of the 2014 racing season and his sixth start in 10 races at the Kansas Speedway. Logano was 0.049 seconds off of the pole sitter.

Starting in third at Kansas on Saturday will be Brad Keselowski after he ran a fast time of 27.906 seconds, 193.507 mph. Keselowski will make his eighth start up inside the top-10, which will be his third top-10 start at Kansas Speedway.

One car will go home after not qualifying for the event tomorrow night, which will be Dave Blaney. Because of this, his son, Ryan Blaney, will not be able to race with his dad tomorrow, which would’ve broken the old streak between Bobby Hamilton and Bobby Hamilton Jr. at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2005.
